See What Team Members Have to Say

I feel that Georgia United supports our work/life balance by understanding that there are times where we have to take care of certain personal/family matters. Georgia United has flexible work schedules and work from home options as well. This is critical when it comes to balancing life’s obstacles with your daily work schedule.
- Deborah, Accounting Supervisor
I started at Georgia United when I was 25 years old. When I began, I had the incredible opportunity to be mentored by our current CEO, Debbie Smith. With her guidance and support, I have been able to grow into many roles, learn new skills and adapt to all situations making me ready for the role I currently serve as our vice president of People and Services. I am thankful for the mentorship Georgia United provides because it helps build relationships with people we may not work with on the day-to-day and gain skills and insights to help us be better in our own roles.
- Mindi, VP People & Services
It’s easy to see why I consider Georgia United Credit Union as being at the forefront of advancing women in the workplace, we’re led by an amazing female leader and women are well represented in our diverse leadership team, myself included. Having these strong female role models in the work environment, available as mentors and guides, has been invaluable to me personally and professionally. I have advanced my career thanks to our Georgia United leaders and the faith and trust they have placed in me.
- Sheryl, Director of Digital Services
Georgia United’s culture supports working parents by providing work/life balance so that I can grow professionally but also be there for my family. I’ve always had great and affordable benefits, ample time off and most importantly when I leave my day job, I can focus on my role as a mom and wife.
- Amanda, Marketing Coordinator
2020 was definitely an unexpected year. There were many trials that everyone had to endure and adapt to a new life. One of the greatest experiences I had in this year was the ability to be able to say I was promoted to a position I had worked so hard for, and especially to say this during a pandemic. I'm lucky enough to work for an organization that did so much for the entire TEAM but I was personally affected. Thank you GUCU for making this year easier to get through.
- Dora, Financial Service Officer
One great experience I would like to share is just how wonderful it has been to work with my TEAM through navigating this new normal. With the guidance and support of our leadership, we have come together to find ways to continue to serve our members. We had to make several adjustments, but we band together and get the job done!
- Kemaly, Branch Manager
What I love most about Georgia United is everyone shares the same vision and is dedicated to the mission. This truly creates a family environment where everyone is there for each other. At Georgia United the genuine spirit of cooperation and shared strengths all revolving around serving the member and team members.
- Jahnae, Head Teller
I started with the credit union many years ago as a part-time teller. Because Georgia United values its team, I have been afforded the opportunity to grow and develop professionally in several areas of the credit union including: Accounting, Risk Management and Project Management. Such growth is unheard of in other companies, but because Georgia United is committed to its team members, I have been able to gain a wealth of information that has been beneficial to my career.
- Rene, Director of Deposit Services
What I like most is being able to work and interact with team members of different race and culture. This helps a lot when interacting with so many members of different culture. Georgia United also provides a family working atmosphere where team members look out for each other, appreciate and show gratitude. The flexibility and understanding of management in looking out for the well-being of its employees is a very rare situation that you will experience with most financial institutions, companies and organizations.
