HOW TO AVOID OVERDRAFT AND NSF FEES
An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction, but we pay it anyway. Georgia United can cover your overdrafts in two different ways:
1. Overdraft protection plans, that link to your other accounts, which may be less expensive than our standard overdraft practices.
2. Courtesy Pay is a standard overdraft practice that automatically comes with your Unified Checking Account.
Your available balance is used to determine whether you have enough money in your account for purposes of assessing overdraft fees. It’s important to know your available balance can differ from your actual balance.

GRANTING A CHILD'S WISH
Help make the holidays special for children in foster care by supporting the Georgia United Foundation® Wish Tree program. You can participate in the holiday gift drive from November 3 - December 8, by selecting a wish at a branch, purchasing an item from our Amazon gift list or making a monetary donation to the Wish Tree fund. We are grateful for your kindness!
EMPOWERING STUDENTS
Team members were excited to volunteer at Junior Achievement® Discovery Center in Gwinnett. The center opened for the first time in August since closing in March 2020 due to the pandemic. Our team members helped eighth grade students create a budget as they navigated real life financial scenarios in a safe and interactive environment.
CARING FOR OTHERS
Our team members recently served the Dublin community by visiting with 30 residents living at an affordable housing community. The residents rarely have an opportunity to go out, so our team members brought the party to them. Lunch and day of good fellowship was had by all.
SERVING OUR COMMUNITY
Our Dalton branch team members made a difference by donating hygiene bags to Jonathan’s House Ministries. The bags contained shampoo, deodorant, a hairbrush, toiletries, a budgeting book and meal planner. The charity helps young adults who have aged out of foster care transition to independent adult living.
