COMMUNITY IMPACT

Georgia United Credit Union and the Georgia United Foundation are dedicated to supporting impactful programs that enrich the lives of others and strengthen our communities. In addition to our corporate initiatives, team members are provided paid Service Days to volunteer at charities that are important to them. Here are a few highlights of how we are serving our community.

Wish Tree 2021

THANK YOU FOR HELPING CHILDREN IN NEED

Thanks to your generosity, 1,284 gifts were collected for deserving children and mothers across 10 Georgia counties during the holiday. Since the Georgia United Foundation Wish Tree program began, over 32,000 gifts have been donated to children in need in our local communities. Thank you for helping fulfill a child’s wish.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Enter to win a scholarship through the Georgia United Foundation now through January 31. The scholarship competition is open to high school seniors preparing to attend a college or technical school during the 2022-2023 school year. A total of $30,000 will be awarded across six scholarships.

CARING FOR OTHERS

Team members at our Stockbridge branch served the community by assembling PJ Packs for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. The PJ Pack program provides an extra set of clothes to patients and families who encounter unexpected or lengthy stays at the hospital. Each PJ Pack has a pajama set, underwear and socks. The packs help families in need at a time when they need it most.

SERVING OUR COMMUNITIES

Our consumer lending team purchased air fryers and cooking sets for young adults transitioning to independent living with the help of Georgia Resilient, Youth-Centered, Stable, and Empowered (RYSE). The program is part of Georgia’s Division of Family and Children Services Independent Living Program (ILP) that helps youth prepare for adulthood. The items were used as prizes for their recipe contest.
