UKRAINE SUPPORT
On May 16, to support credit union members and staff in Ukraine displaced by the country’s war with Russia, our charitable giving arm, Georgia United Foundation, donated $10,000 in relief funds to the Ukrainian Credit Unions Displacement Fund sponsored by the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions. Credit unions around the globe are known for their “people helping people” philosophy, and this donation is a poignant example.

Georgia United Credit Union and Georgia United Foundation are dedicated to supporting impactful programs that enrich the lives of others and strengthen our communities. In addition to our corporate initiatives, team members are provided paid Service Days to volunteer at charities that are important to them. Here are a few recent highlights of how we are serving our community.
DAY OF GIVING
Thanks to your generosity, Georgia United Foundation’s inaugural Day of Giving on June 13 was a resounding success. We are grateful for the contributions from members who helped us raise almost $12,000 in online donations, more than doubling the goal of $5,000. Donors selected which causes their contributions are going to, providing direct support for children’s hospitals, homeless shelters, schools and other local organizations in the communities that we serve. While the Day of Giving portal is now closed, members can donate to the foundation at any time by going to: gucufoundation.org/donate.
SCHOOL CRASHERS UPDATE
Braving the sweltering Georgia summer heat, Georgia United volunteer team members have made steady progress on the five School Crashers grant recipient projects chosen for 2022, including creating and upgrading sensory rooms, a safe mental health space, a career counseling center, outdoor classroom/pollinator garden and media center. This year’s School Crashers grant recipients are Colham Ferry Elementary School (Oconee County), Heritage High School (Rockdale County), Radloff Middle School (Gwinnett County), Towers High School (DeKalb County) and Westside Middle School (Whitfield County). These projects are slated for completion before students head back to school for the new academic year.
THE MONEY MAMMALS® SAVING MONEY IS FUN KIDS CLUB™
It is never too early to learn about money management and financial literacy. Our consumer-driven society encourages kids to spend money, but Georgia United can help them learn about saving and managing money with the Money Mammals Kids Club.
