The Better Business Bureau has an important message regarding credit repair and debt relief scams. Regardless of how the debt happened, when faced with mounting bills and difficult budget decisions, scammers who promise to repair credit or eliminate debt for a fee is simply a promise that cannot be kept. Victims are enticed with guarantees, such as a credit score increase or debt forgiveness, all for a charge upfront for their services. INVESTING IN OUR YOUTH

For 28 years, the Georgia United Foundation has awarded high school scholarships to Georgia United members and their children or grandchildren planning to attend college or a technical school. We are proud to recognize six outstanding students with a total of $30,000 in scholarship funds this year. PARTNER IN EDUCATION

Georgia United Credit Union is honored to be a Platinum Level sponsor at this year’s Forsyth County Schools Celebration of Excellence. The celebration recognizes Teachers of the Year, Parent/Guardian Leaders and Partners in Education. We are proud to stand beside these outstanding educators as the official credit union for Forsyth County Schools and are grateful to be recognized as an outstanding partner in education.

FINANCIAL EDUCATION

Our team recently attended the grand opening of the Junior Achievement (JA) Discovery Center in Savannah located on the Armstrong campus at Georgia Southern University. At JA, students apply financial concepts in real-world scenarios such as working at a business, applying for loans and marketing a product. This marks the Georgia United Foundation's fifth JA partnership across the state.

COMMUNITY PARTNER

The Georgia United Foundation presented a $3,500 check to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Georgia to help support their fundraising initiative. We are excited to help an organization that strives to enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.

ANNUAL SHAREHOLDERS' MEETING

As a member-owner of Georgia United Credit Union, you are invited to attend the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at the Corporate Office, located at 6705 Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth. Registration will begin at 1:30 pm and the meeting will start at 2 pm. We will provide interested shareholders with an overview of Georgia United’s accomplishments over the past calendar year and distribute the 2021 Annual Report. Our highest priority is the health and safety of our members and team members; therefore, face coverings are preferred and optional for our fully vaccinated guests.
